Competitions
Wow what a week for competitions for the 6th. Wednesday 3rd saw the Galaxy Team Quiz at St. Johns URC. We were current holders of the Trophy from last year and we went in with the intention of keeping it. The dream Team consisted of, Peter Etheridge, Ben Kings, Matty Crowe and Daniel Gooding. There were 5 teams in total, 1 from Colchester, 2 from 3rd Ipswich and 1 from 1st Ipswich. Our boys were quietly confident and had their strategy of when to play their Joker all worked out. They felt their strongest subject would be the Bible Round. There was a potential of doubling their points on that round from 8 to 16. Well if you want to find out more of what happened then you'll have to read the next issue of 6thNews which will be out on 23rd March.
The other competition we entered this week was the Eastern District 5 a side football. We had a team in the U14 who were, Adam Stant, Barry Calver, Russell Haddow, Daniel Brown and Matty Crowe. They played extremely well and won Pool A to get themselves into the final. The final itself was very tense and went to full time without either side scoring. It was then decided on a Golden Goal and you'll have to read 6thNews to find out the rest.
Our over 16 team consisted of Tom Haddow, Jonathan Calver, Ali Kings, Ben Kings and Phil Brown. I was not there myself and at the time of writing this have yet to receive a full report on the tournament.
All I can say is well done to all who took part in the competitions we have taken part in. You have done the 6th proud in the way you represented us. All exactly what BB is about.
