Thinking of coming to camp? This is how much of a laugh it can be.
A couple of years ago Rick compiled a list of 10 of the funniest things that have happened on camp. Well that list provoked much discussion & of course since it was written many more hilarious things have happened.

But for the first item in our new list we take you back to 1991 in Dulverton where....

1) Peter Turner Shoots the Tent

He had no choice, it came at him, it was the tent or him! What really happened was that the inter tent sports involved a spot of target shooting & Peter missed the target by some distance.

2) Get in the Ring

A bizarre mixture of Blind Man's Buff and wrestling invented for Sandown in 1993. Considered too dangerous until....

3) Get in the Ring II

Broadstairs 98. We reminded ourselves that it wasn't a good idea in 1993!

4) Four Weddings & An Orderly Officers Day
Richard L performed an impromptu re-enactment of the opening moments of a well known film when he slept through his alarm on the only day when he really had to get up. This comedy camp moment contained strong language! (
Also voted a Cabbage Award wining moment!)

5. Snow Ball Fight on the Isle of Wight
But no snow, not to worry thought an unnamed officer. Dish mops will do instead. With hindsight, no they wouldn't. Filed under D for Dangerous with Get in the Ring.

6. All Present & Correct
One of the hardest tasks on camp is getting people up but this proved a doddle at Sheringham in 1994 for Tim Upson-Smith. He had his tent lined up outside at 7.05 sharp despite there being nobody else about, largely due to the fact that it was raining so hard that a local boat builder was collecting pairs of animals.

7. Pop Up Nev
At Christchurch in 1992 Neville Woolnough had appeared to acquire a teleporting device which enabled him to materialise at the precise time & place any skulduggery was taking place.

8. Paul's Pants
Legendary pant wearing marathon that was said to have continued for an entire week of camp at Chelwood Gate in 1990.

9. Look At Me!
When Graeme Mateer decided to see what some workmen were doing outside the shower room during camp last year, he wrapped a towel around himself & stood on a bench so he could see out of the window. As he had nothing on apart from the towel, were the workmen to have looked in his direction he would appear to be wearing nothing. Therefore, true to form, Eric decided that they would look in his direction by shouting 'LOOK AT ME!'. They of course looked at an apparently naked Graeme who apparently wanted them to look at him.

10. The Road Hole
Cabbage Award winning act of foolishness saw Peter Hart play his Pitch & Putt shot from the road adjacent to the course, have it rebound off the fence into the drive of a nearby house, narrowly missing the irate owner's car. Never has the cabbage been more deserved!
