We Don't Ask We Tell The Story Of The All New 6thNews Hard as it is to believe, the first edition of the All New 6th News only came out in September 2000. In those few short months is has transformed the 6th News from an
occasional curiosity into a publishing behemoth, something that generates excitement and brings you something new all the time.If we still wore hats in the BB we would take them off to Brian Crowe, for it
was he shortly after arriving at the 6th who saw the potential for a company newspaper. He produced the 6th News single handed, with occasional guest writers. But when he took the reins of captaincy and a
new era for the 6th dawned, a new era dawned for the 6th News too. It was Martin Cable who saw the potential the 6th News had, but he didn't want to take it on alone. He knew it needed a team, not to
mention a computer. He asked Neil Hunting and computer owning Richard Laycock to join him. They agreed and the editorial team was in place. With a new Captain and a new team bringing you the 6th News to
introduce, the features that appeared on the front page chose themselves. However, what was needed was a whole new image for the 6th News. We came up with a logo, which mixed a traditional BB image of a
bugle with an exciting lettering style, and a slogan, we don't ask, we tell. The slogan says a lot about us. We tell because we are a newspaper and they tell things, but also we tell, because we would tell
people that they were going to write for us, so keeping the 6th news different and fresh every time, with the happy upshot of there being less for us to have to write. We decided that the 6th News had to
come out regularly, often enough to always be around and in people's minds, not so often that we have to rush the publication forcing to compromise on quality. Every two months was what we decided and it has
come out bi-monthly since. In between times though is when we have to keep the 6th News in everyone's mind. To do this our publicity machine swings into action. From shouting 6th News from time to time,
putting up posters and banners around the church, being on this Website and talking to people about the 6th News to find out what they think, and what they'd like to see in it. The 6th News and the 6thWeb
have a close association. One of the most exciting things to happen to the 6th News is the launch of
6th News-Online. The 6th News is posted here on the 6thWeb in pdf format. This means anyone in the world can read it as it exists in
it's paper form and even print off their own copy. You can also join a discussion about the 6th News in the 6thWeb discussion forum. So that's the story so far. However, the real story can only be told
by reading the 6th News. You can see how we've given away cash prizes, free gifts and even an acre of the moon. You will see how staff and boys alike write for and appear in the 6th News and you will see the
unique mix of news & features that only the 6th News brings you every two months. So if you haven't already done so, take a look at the 6th News now. We don't ask, we tell you to!
